Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

Last updated: 17 October 2026

The Covr handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what that means in practice.

Who we are. The Covr Collective Pty Ltd (ACN 702 582 063, ABN 13 702 582 063), trading as The Covr.

1. What we collect

Information When
Name, email, phone, delivery address When you place an order or contact us
Vehicle year, make and model When you configure a cover, as we need it to cut the pattern
Artwork you upload When you order personalisation
Order and payment record At checkout. We never see or store your full card number.
Device, browser, IP, pages viewed Automatically, if you accept analytics cookies

We don't collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

2. Why we collect it

  • To make and deliver your cover, including sending vehicle and artwork details to our manufacturer
  • To process payment and issue receipts
  • To answer your questions and handle returns and faults
  • To send marketing email, but only if you've opted in
  • To understand how the site is used, if you've accepted analytics cookies
  • To meet our tax and legal obligations

If someone refers you to us, we use the referrer details they give only to check and credit the referral.

3. Cookies and analytics

We use two kinds of cookies.

  • Essential: cart contents, your configurator selections, and your cookie choice. These always run; the site doesn't work without them.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4, which tells us which pages people look at and where they leave. These load only if you press “Accept all”. IP addresses are anonymised.

You can change your mind by clearing your browser's site data for this domain, which brings the banner back. You can also block cookies in your browser settings, though essential ones being blocked will break checkout.

We don't currently run advertising pixels. If that changes, this policy will be updated and you'll be asked again.

4. Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary with:

  • Our manufacturer: vehicle details and artwork, so your cover can be made
  • Shipping carriers: name, address and phone for delivery
  • Payment providers: Shopify Payments, PayPal, Afterpay, Zip. They handle card data directly under their own privacy policies.
  • Service providers: our e-commerce platform, email tools and analytics
  • Authorities: only where required by law

We never sell your personal information.

5. Overseas disclosure

Some of our providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States and Singapore. Our manufacturer is located overseas and receives your vehicle details and any artwork you supply. We take reasonable steps to ensure recipients handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

6. How long we keep it

  • Order and tax records: 7 years, as the ATO requires
  • Artwork files: 3 years, so we can reproduce a cover if you reorder
  • Support emails: 2 years
  • Marketing subscription: until you unsubscribe
  • Analytics: 14 months

7. Security

The site runs over HTTPS. Access to customer data is restricted to people who need it. Payment card details never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but if a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the OAIC as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.

8. Access and correction

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we're not legally required to keep it. Email enquiries@thecovr.com.au. We'll respond within 30 days and won't charge you for a reasonable request.

9. Marketing

We only send marketing email if you've opted in. Every email has an unsubscribe link that works immediately. Unsubscribing doesn't stop transactional email about an order you've placed.

10. Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your information, email enquiries@thecovr.com.au and we'll investigate within 30 days. If you're not satisfied you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
